ULI Brisbane Urban Innovation Ideas Competition 2016

ULI Asia Pacific and ULI Australia have pleasure announcing the 2016 Urban Innovation Ideas Competition for 2016. The Brisbane 2016 Urban Innovation Ideas Competition – ‘Connecting Urban Precincts’, builds upon the success of the inaugural competition in Sydney in 2015.

ULI’s Urban Innovation Initiative champions urban innovation, collaboration and youth leadership in the property industry.
The Initiative is an ongoing focus of ULI in Australia and the annual competition explores solutions to topical and timely issues or projects relevant to successful urbanisation of our Cities.

The initiative couples creative thinking by young professionals with input from industry leaders and sector specialists to develop leading initiatives that connect capital and real estate to create value.

The Urban Innovation Prize will result in young professional teams having the potential to be selected to present their initiative at the 2017 ULI Asia Pacific Summit.

2016 Competition – “Connecting Urban Precincts”

The 2016 competition again offers the next generation of design and property professionals to respond to a key strategic facing urban development in one of Australia’s major cities.

This years Competition convenors, the ULI Young Leaders’s Group in Brisbane, have selected Brisbane’s inner fringe as the project area, with the competition seeking urban innovations that can transform the interface between the Brisbane City Centre and the Fortitude Valley precinct into a connected, urban, active and sub-tropical place befitting a New World City.

The competition focuses on the importance of creating great urban places to add social, cultural, economic and ecological value.

The competition will aim to:

  • Stimulate ideas on city making
  • Provide a platform for under 35’s
  • Promote ULI’s mission to “provide leadership in responsible land use”
  • Remain consistent with ULI’s ongoing dedication to fostering tomorrow’s leaders

The competition will be run in two stages. Stage One is an Ideas competition with a jury of industry and city leaders selecting up to 3 finalists to progress to Stage Two. Stage Two involves the Idea Development Stage, where entrants will develop their concepts.
