Expired: Ignite the “Future of Work” with WIRED innovation challenge

Ignite the “Future of Work” with WIRED innovation challenge

We are in the midst of a rapid transformation. Spurred by technology and millennial attitudes, the way we work today is the dinosaur of tomorrow. Nearly every major news channel has reported on the “future of work” – but few highlight the potential day-to-day realities experienced by today’s talents. To reframe the conversation and include you in the discussion, jovoto has founded the ForeWork Initiative in partnership with adidas, Cisco and Vitra.

To kick-off the discussion, ForeWork is collaborating with WIRED. Together we want to invite you to the first ForeWork crowdstorm surrounding the future of work.

This is your chance to let the world know what matters to you and to influence the future of work!

As part of ForeWork, you are welcome to:

  • Connect and network with a creative and innovative global crowd
  • Receive feedback from senior leaders around the world and across several industries
  • Earn cash prizes from the €20,000 total prize pool
  • Become part of the ForeWork report which lands directly in the hands of high-level decision-makers at some of the world’s most renowned organizations
  • Have your contributions reviewed by WIRED editors for potential publication
  • Be chosen to present your idea and participate in the two-day ForeWork workshop with initiative partners at the end of April (fluent English is a requirement), including consultation fee and travel costs to Berlin.

Contribute your insights, needs, and perspectives to help organizations shape work in a way that you would like to experience it.

By joining this global discussion on the next generation of talent, your ideas will be heard by top-level executives, thought leaders and potentially the readership of WIRED.

This is your chance to let the world know what matters to you and to influence the future of work!

Feel free to think big and beyond – develop concepts to show how you would like to work in the future. Then transform your ideas and experiences into engaging imagery, content and stories suitable for WIRED.

Focus on one of the scenarios below.

“This is how I want to work.”

As Daniel Pink says, “Talented people need organizations less than organizations need talented people.” Given the changing employer-employee relationship, what could a company implement, offer or restructure to inspire you to want to work with them? Your ideas can range from small hacks to revolutionary workflows, organizational structures and work cultures.

“My future of work“

Do you already experience “futuristic” work? Share your inspiring experiences! How do you collaborate in virtual teams or across traditional hierarchies; how is your office designed to foster creativity; what workflows have you established to ensure productivity in times of constant interruption…? Share your story by offering a unique perspective on what you have learned about the future of work.

As there are several elements to a WIRED, you can choose how you communicate your bold concept. Here are some ideas:

  • Magazine cover, back cover
  • Feature story, article, interview
  • Image, photograph, visual spread
  • Advertisement, cartoon
  • Concept, proposal, idea map
  • Rendering, blueprint, product design

You are welcome to pick the format that best aligns with your set of skills!

Your contributions will be reviewed by international experts, as well as the senior editors of WIRED Magazine for potential publication. In addition to the prize pool, selected participants will be invited to Berlin for a co-creation workshop to join the ForeWork jury in further discussing and shaping the ideas and insights from the crowdstorm.

You will find your Looking ForeWork overview document in the Project Kit!
