Swansea University, Wales, is offering a fully funded PhD Studentship for the right candidate to work on an extensive research project.
Through this interdisciplinary project in the exciting and growing field of Mathematical Pharmacology, the student will join Swansea’s new Mathematical Methods in Biology and Life Sciences (MMBLS) group, gaining skills in scientific computing, mathematics and bio-modelling which will be applicable in a vast range of fields. The student will benefit from an experienced team of supervisors and collaborators in Swansea, the UK and the Netherlands.
- Due to funding restrictions, this studentship is open to UK/EU candidates only.
- Candidates must have an upper second class honours undergraduate or a Masters degree (with Merit), in a relevant discipline.
- A background in applied mathematics, including differential equations, modelling and computation is required. Familiarity with asymptotic analysis would be helpful, and programming in MATLAB or similar will be a central component of the project. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently are also required. A background in biology or pharmacology is not required but an interest in these fields would be helpful.

Awards:- The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a tax free stipend of £14,057 p.a for three years.
