The University of Padua, the Veneto Region and other organisations offer various scholarship schemes to support students. Below is a list of the funding opportunities that are most often used by international students in Padua.
The Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori (Galilean School of Higher Education) is the University of Padua’s school of excellence. It combines traditional university education with a series of special in-house courses comprising seminars and lectures by renowned international visiting professors.
Up to four highly talented international students are selected each year. If you are admitted, you will attend both the course units at the University of Padua and the internal courses of the Galilean School, and you will be provided with free board and housing, language courses and personal study and career tutoring. As an international student, you may additionally be offered a reimbursement of travel expenses and a living allowance. You are expected to share rights and duties of all Galilean students.
Who can apply: you are eligible to apply if you
- hold (or expect to hold by 31 July) a non-Italian first-cycle/Bachelor’s degreee
- have been admitted OR are eligible to be admitted to a Master’s degree programmes at the University of Padua
- be no older than 26 at the time of application
Available degree courses: you may choose any Master’s degree programme offered by the University of Padua

Why study at Galilean School of Higher Education? A dedicated course for international students to learn Italian can be offered by the school and support learning other languages. This shows the methods and a technique used for scientific study and then gives students a deeper insight into the field.
Awards:- The University of Padua will provide 1 round trip ticket from/to your home country (up to €1,500); freeboard and accommodation at University of Padova canteens and residences; reimbursement of documented expenses such as books, etc.; up to €5,000 living allowance.
