Open to all artists. Each work must comprise at least 50% dry coloured pencil.
The UKCPS was founded in 2001 and granted charitable status in 2019 to promote coloured pencil as a fine art medium and to support and educate artists about coloured pencil. The society is now proud to celebrate its 20th successful year with its largest ever annual open exhibition at the prestigious Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf gallery.
Coloured pencil is gaining in popularity with all artists due to its versatility and ease of use. Recent improvements in their manufacture mean there is now a huge choice of pencils, including completely lightfast ranges, enabling artists to create artwork which can stand alongside more established media. Coloured pencil has recently seen success at the 7th Sky Portrait Artist of the Year contest with the win by artist Curtis Holder.
The UKCPS is excited to invite entries from all artists, whether you are already a lover of the medium or whether you are making a new adventure into the art of the coloured pencil.
