We are looking for solutions which help in reducing the total turnaround time of handling of materials in warehouse.
In one of our warehouses, agriculture tools like Pickaxe, Shovel, Phowrah & Crowbar etc. are stored in multi-tier pallet storage system, which is received in in loose condition (Refer Figure 1). Handling of these items is manual, which takes time for picking, loading, unloading & putting away. All items are barcoded or QR coded.
Currently, total turnaround time including loading or unloading material on vehicle is around 6 to 8 hours. We want to reduce the total turnaround time and achieve benchmark levels of ecommerce industries.
It is important to note that some of our materials are loose and are made of different material. Materials in warehouse also comes in various shapes & sizes and varies in volume and weight (Refer Figure 2-5). Longest material is crowbar having length of about 5 feet. Average weight of material is about 32-36 kg/bundle. Due to space constraints, all the material is not kept in racks but also stored on ground.
