Autodesk Design & Make It Real: Make It Heal
When disaster hits, such as wildfires, floods, storms, or other crises, rebuilding must go beyond replacing what was lost. Communities need spaces that help people feel safe again, bring neighbors back together, and restore a sense of home.
This year’s Design & Make It Real: Make It Heal challenge is your chance to imagine places that help people heal and move forward. We’re giving out more than $75,000 in prizes for designs that make a real difference.
We’re asking: What if the built environment could be part of the healing?
Your challenge
Design a public space or structure that supports recovery and resilience after a community-changing event. It could be a school, health clinic, makerspace, community center, place of worship, or another environment where healing—emotional, social, and physical—can take place.
Get inspired
The Make It Heal film series follows New England pro quarterback and aerospace engineer Josh Dobbs as he travels from Los Angeles to Boston, meeting students and builders who are reshaping how we recover and prepare for what’s next. From wildfire-struck neighborhoods creating pre-approved resilient home designs to cutting-edge digital construction labs anticipating future climate challenges, you’ll see how design, technology, and collaboration can transform loss into learning and rebuilding into belonging.
Watch the films and imagine how your own design could be part of this movement.
