The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2026 celebrates the art of architectural innovation and creative brilliance for the third time globally. This prestigious award shines a spotlight on unrealized designs that push the boundaries of creativity, embodying innovation and visionary thinking. These projects, while not yet constructed, play a pivotal role in shaping the conversation around contemporary architecture.
This award honors the creative journey itself, from sketches and models to digital explorations, capturing the essence of architectural thinking before it becomes reality. It acknowledges the audacity to dream and the intellectual value of design as a tool for envisioning future possibilities rather than simply constructing physical spaces.
Architects and designers are encouraged to submit their unrealized projects across any typology or development stage, ranging from concept sketches and competition entries to detailed plans awaiting execution. Submissions are classified into three size categories:
- Small Wonders: up to 100 m²
- Medium Marvels: 101–999 m²
- Large Visions: over 1,000 m²
Through this platform, Buildner fosters a global dialogue on the influence of unbuilt architecture in the architectural profession. This competition provides a stage for architects, designers, and students to showcase their creativity without the limitations of technical or financial constraints, celebrating ideas that inspire and redefine the future of design.
