Explore a Prestigious PhD Scholarship in the UK

Are you seeking a fully funded PhD opportunity in Europe that blends innovative research with impactful policy insights? The University of Glasgow offers a distinctive and transformative doctoral program, focusing on child poverty, migration, and social security.

About the Scholarship Program

Hosted by the esteemed College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow, established in 1451, this program delves into pressing global issues. The research addresses the intersection of child poverty, migration, ethnicity, and social welfare access. Despite comprising only 12% of Scotland’s child population, minoritised ethnic children account for 27% of those living in poverty, underscoring a significant inequality.

The scholarship investigates:

  • Reasons for underclaiming social benefits among migrant and minority families
  • Structural and systemic barriers in social security
  • Influences of race, immigration status, and cultural factors
  • Policy measures to alleviate child poverty

In collaboration with the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG), this research promises real-world policy impacts.
