The SOAS University of London is offering an exciting and fully-funded opportunity for aspiring scholars through the MPhil/PhD Studentship in Pan-African Frontiers: Reparative Futures and Global Order. This program invites candidates keen on exploring Pan-Africanism, global justice, reparations, and international governance.
The studentship is a part of a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship led by Daniel Mulugeta, hosted at the SOAS Centre for Pan-African Studies within the Department of Politics and International Studies.

Scholarship Overview

This project delves into Pan-Africanism as a political movement connecting Africa, the Caribbean, and diasporic communities. It focuses on:

  • Global justice and reparations
  • Redressing historical injustices of slavery and colonialism
  • Reforming institutions and global governance
  • Emerging political agency and solidarity

The program unites scholars and practitioners from Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and North America to explore the role of historically marginalized communities in shaping the future global order.
