The awards celebrate the photobook’s contribution to the evolving narrative of photography, with a focus on the African continent.
Eiger Foundation works closely with the Inside Out Centre in Johannesburg, to promote African photography and other art forms through exhibitions, educational programs, competitions and creative exchanges. To promote art forms the Eiger foundation in September 2021 initiated the EIGER FOUNDATON African book of the year awards to celebrate the photobook’s contribution to the evolving narrative of photography, with a focus on the African continent.
Awards:- A prestigious jury of experts on African photography and art will award a prize of $20,000 to the winning book, and $3,000 to four runner ups.
