In recent years, the insurance shopping process has undergone significant changes, largely driven by younger generations’ preferences. Tech-savvy newer generations tend to approach insurance shopping online, seeking personalization and efficiency. As a result, more traditional methods, like in-person agent meetings, are becoming increasingly replaced by digital-first approaches.
Consumers today have a variety of ways to find insurers online. Comparison websites aggregate best insurers based on needs and may even provide quotes from multiple insurers. Other digital resources, like social media and online forums, provide recommendations and reviews.
As a major insurance provider, we are seeking to understand in detail how younger generations navigate the auto insurance shopping process online and how to better support their needs.
