The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre is a tripartite collaboration between the Swedish Trade Commissioner’s Office, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS Delhi) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur), with active participation from ICMR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare – India, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs – Sweden, AstraZeneca and Nasscom.
The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre acts as a growth catalyst for startups through clinical validation, cross country mentorship, networking, funding access and international expansion.

Point of care devices/ technologies to enable early detection and management of CKD
Solutions for
o A reliable POCT device to determine UACR for early detection of CKD
o Requirement of POCT platform to detect CKD, lipid and HBA1c, preferably in a single platform
Solution for increasing medication efficiency and patient adherence for respiratory patients
Solutions for
o An audio device that can fit into a MDI inhaler to provide step-by-step guidance to the patient how to use the inhaler properly to increase medication efficacy and monitor adherence
Solutions to assess the quality standard of the drug molecules
Solutions for
o An in vitro model to assess the efficacy of different anti platelet agents
o To determine the presence of API content and API excipients and impurities of different anti platelet and anti-diabetic agents
o Tools to check and monitor the compliance of medication to patients

o Easy and accurate identification of HF in clinic – a tool which can get Ejection Fraction or similar markers to establish HF

Digital tools & next gen sequencing solutions to enable affordable and accessible diagnosis of cancer

o Her2 low testing using digital pathology and AI
o An AI based predictive model of blood cancer for early diagnosis and determine progress
o A next generation sequencing solution to reduce test cost of gene panel substantially to make the cancer biomarker tests more accessible and affordable
o An online/digital tool based on IWCLL criteria & IPI index to identify right CLL patient who may require treatment or stratify as “wait & watch” categories
o An artificial intelligence-based tool to predict when to initiate treatment for CLL patients based on input of lymphocyte count and other defined physical symptoms – (1) quantum of fatigue (2) Magnitude of night sweat (3) weight loss in recent past (4) presence of low-grade fever
o Any x ray-based software which can identify early sign of pneumonitis/ILD so patient can be appropriately managed upfront since ILD is common in case of targeted therapy in lung cancer
Tools and technologies to enable improved cancer patient care and adherence to the treatments
Solutions for
o A method where cancer patient can compare his/her previous scan vs current scan and have RECIST assessment for software which will be useful for quick assessment
o A portable ECG monitoring device which can share the data of a patient from home to clinicians in real time for CLL patients
Block chain/ new age technology enabled patient registries with Genetic counseling to identify and manage high risk Cancer patients
Solutions for
o Genetic counselling platform to identify high risk patients (start with breast the scale it for ovarian and prostate)
o Creating blockchain based patient registries or longitudinal health records with an only incremental change in the HCPs behaviour or without disrupting an HCP’s existing behaviour (leading to easier uptake) – with a focus on Cancer and Rare Diseases?
Innovative solutions to enable increased awareness and education about the disease to patients to enable better patient outcomes

o Digital platform with large database of GP/CP (with consent) to support outreach programs related to disease awareness and education

o Platforms to hand hold the patient in their journey for HCP consultation, diagnosis (Embedding new data driven strategies into standard care), medicine delivery, maintaining wellbeing through counselling
o Interactive AI based Diagnostic, Disease information and Referral solution, referring to CoE / right specialist at City / State / Country / Global level based on patient socio-economic profile
o Virtual Patient Navigation System to handhold the patient and navigate through various healthcare systems providing holistic support to patients and bridging the digital divide in health care access.
o A digital portal to connect Indian patients with global clinicians to get an expert opinion for different diseases
o Improving awareness and documentation in marginalized groups for better access to health care

o Trusted technology solution to enable Physicians to practice Guideline directed Medical therapy
o Integrating current EHRs through technology to enable answering specific questions from RWE (through ai based/ML enabled user friendly analytics, presentation and publications)
