The Manchester Writing Competition is organized by the Manchester Metropolitan University, England.
There are two Prizes:
• Manchester Poetry Prize — entrants must submit a portfolio of 3 to 5 poems with a combined maximum length of 120 lines.
• Manchester Fiction Prize — entrants must submit a short story of up to 2,500 words in length.
All work must be written in English.
All work can be on any subject, and written in any style or form, but must be the entrant’s own original writing, and should not have published in print or have been broadcast on or before 31st May 2022.
Poetry Prize Judges: Romalyn Ante, Malika Booker (Chair of Poetry Judges), Zaffar Kunial.
Fiction Prize Judges: Hilaire, Simon Okotie, Nicholas Royle (Chair of Fiction Judges).
Awards:- The Manchester Writing Competition will award two prizes: £10,000 to the winner of the Manchester Poetry Prize and £10,0000 to the winner of the Manchester Fiction Prize.

Entry fees:- The cost of entry is £18 per entry (one short story or one portfolio of three to five poems).
