About Altair Start up Challenge( ASC).
Altair Start-up Challenge (ASC), in collaboration with Start-up India / Invest India and other partners, aims to inculcate Simulation driven design culture at the early stage of their product life cycle to enable them to explore revolutionary designs and rapidly innovate, evaluate more design variables at lower cost, risk and time to market. Altair’s state-of-the-art technology solutions will help identify the pain points, enablers, and challenges through Simulation and AI / Data-driven process. Launched in 2019 in partnership with start-up India, other industry bodies ,industry experts and academia, we have mentored 50+ start-ups successfully over 3 editions.
Altair Start-Up Challenge 2022.
In line with Defence ministry, GoI aim to create an ecosystem to foster innovation and technology development in Defence and Aerospace by engaging Industries including MSMEs, start-ups, individual innovators, R&D institutes & academia, Altair would be dedicating 2022 edition to A&D start-ups. The theme of this year is “Next Generation Aero and Defence Systems development including unmanned mobility platform.”
Program Details
DETAILED ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Start-ups, as defined and recognized by the Department of Industrial Policy Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India as well as those who are registered on the start-up India platform.
2. Any Indian company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956/2013, primarily a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) as defined in the MSME Act, 2006.

1. Embedded System Development using Model Based Systems Engineering
System Simulation/Power Electronics / Embedded systems using Altair’s MBSE Platform: Systems and Controls development in an Integrated co-Simulation environment, FMI/FMU, Interactive, and Real-Time MCU in Loop (MiL) simulation with Plant Models and Controls Algorithm on Target MCU’s.
2.Electronics and Communications System using Hi-Frequency Electromagnetics
Electronics and Communications System design using Altair’s Hi-Frequency Electromagnetics Platform. Design and Development of communication devices for wireless connectivity (including 5G) and propagation, network planning, EMI/EMC, radar cross section (RCS) and scattering analysis, Design of Radomes and RF devices.
3. Structural Design and Development using Multiphysics Simulation
Structural Design and Development using Altair’s Multiphysics Simulation Platform. Enabling Altair Simulation solutions early in the product life cycle to reduce cost and time to market and improve product performance for Durability, Noise and Vibration, aerodynamics, thermal, Safety, Kinematics, Electromagnetics, Optimization and Light Weighting Composites Materials and Additive Manufacturing.
4. Smart System Development using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Internet of Things(AI, ML and IoT)
Smart System Development using Altair’s AI, ML and IoT Platform. Enabling Data Analytics for Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics using next generation technologies, i.e., AI, ML & IoT for the development of Smart Connected systems and Digital Twin Applications.
