The jewellery industry faces a persistent challenge in handling and monitoring diamonds in workshops. Being transparent and non-metallic nature, diamonds cannot be reliably detected using conventional security screening tools such as body scanners or metal detectors. Currently, the process relies on manual frisking of personnel, which is not foolproof, as diamonds can be concealed within garments or on the human body. The average size of these diamonds ranges from 0.8 mm to 4 mm.
We seek a safe, quick, and effective method or instrument to ensure robust detection of concealed diamonds during security screening of personnel in jewellery workshops, while meeting the following requirements:
- Screening time should not exceed 20-25 seconds.
- Technology must be harmless and cause no discomfort to individuals (non-X-ray / non-ionizing radiation based solution).
- Detection must be highly reliable with no scope of error, minimizing false positives and negatives.
Awards:- Reward money is paid in exchange of legally acquiring the solution, implementing it to solve the problem and meeting the success criteria. Milestones for paying the reward money would depend upon the complexity of challenge and maturity of the proposed solution, which would be discussed with the solver as soon as the proposed solution is selected by us.
Deadline:- 05-04-2026
