The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre is a tripartite collaboration between the Swedish Trade Commissioner’s Office, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS Delhi) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur), with active participation from ICMR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare – India, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs – Sweden, Startup India, AstraZeneca and Nasscom.
The India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre acts as a growth catalyst for startups through clinical validation, cross country mentorship, networking, funding access and international expansion.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
1. Diabetes, Cardiovascular, Kidney and Lung diseases – solutions within awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and disease management
Description: Solutions for
– Early screening and diagnosis of heart failure, diabetes, and Chronic Kidney Disease
– Non-invasive point of care test device for Chronic Kidney disease, Diabetes, Hemoglobin and Glycated Hemoglobin
– Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases
– Increase awareness on Cardiovascular disease, diabetes education and awareness including school children
– Home based care solutions and digital patient support programs for heart failure and Chronic Kidney Disease patients
– Digital biomarkers and digital therapeutics that can improve patient-centric outcomes in heart failure and renal diseases
– Innovative solutions that can either detect or monitor Interstitial Lung Disease
2. Cancer / Oncology – solutions within awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and disease management
Description: Solutions for
– Early screening and detection of ovarian cancer
– Non-invasive diagnostics – Women’s cancers including familial cancers/ hereditary cancers
– Effective collection and maintenance of cancer tumour cells – FFPE (formalin fixed, paraffin embedded)
– Screening, diagnosis and management of Childhood cancers
3. Neurology, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s and related conditions – solutions within awareness, screening, diagnosis, treatment and disease management

– EEG / Single electrode-based module at early stage under follow-up

4. COVID – solutions within awareness and disease management

5. Remote monitoring solutions

– Post discharge remote surveillance monitoring systems for patients
– Fetal and maternal remote monitoring systems
6. Patient education and awareness solutions

– Showcasing the funding sources for treatment
– Solutions to search healthcare insurance schemes that cover a specific therapy/disease

– Generating multi-omics data in specific patient cohorts including NASH, rare cardiovascular diseases and immunological conditions

Procedure Post Submission
1. All submitted applications will be screened on completion and relevance to arrive at the shortlist
2. Shortlisted start-ups will be invited and evaluated through one-to-one pitch sessions with the committee to arrive at the Finalists
3. Finalists will be going through another round of evaluation with the panel of experts to arrive at the winners

1. Rapid scale-up by enabling clinical validation through hospitals as a test bed and deployment at pilot projects
2. Mentoring by a network of mentors with rich and diverse experience such as AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Delhi, AstraZeneca and Business Sweden, who work closely with the start-ups to support them in their growth by sharing their valuable knowledge, and by connecting them with opportunities in the industry
3. Fuel international expansion and collaboration by acting as a gateway to connect to the international markets through a wide network of partners
4. High level visibility to showcase your innovation to distinguished industry leaders, policy makers and healthcare providers through conferences and digital showcase
5. Interact and pitch your innovations to the VCs to attract investments
6. Incubation space at AIIMS Jodhpur to co-create and refine the solution along with access to laboratories.
