Cities hosting large events have some of the greatest infrastructure challenges. They are not only faced with the predicament of how to create a venue that can accommodate the event, but what to do with the venue when the event is over.
With this in mind, we are inviting you to design temporary structures that can fulfill a momentary need, and then be environmentally recycled, repurposed or reused when it is no longer needed. Examples can include emergency shelters for natural disaster response, a portable science lab for a research expedition, or a shade structure for a day at the beach.
To enter, share a step-by-step Instructable demonstrating how you created your structure including elements such as research, sketches, design process, site plans, models and final renderings. Additionally, we have a special judge’s prize specifically for a design with a stand-out physical architectural model.
Requirements
- Submit a step-by-step Instructable showing how you designed a temporary structure.
- Share your design process and include the final 3D renderings of your structure.
- Participant must be a student enrolled in high school or a post-secondary institution, and in good standing.
