Reinvent The Way We Clean Our Hair Competition

We want you to share your ideas for a new highly innovative product, service or technology that will enable people to clean their hair in an entirely different way.

Whether it is short or long, curly, wavy or straight, smooth or frizzy, blonde, ginger, brunette or black, hair is a defining feature of our appearance. We wash, condition, cut and style our hair according to how we want it to look, how we want to feel about ourselves and what we want others to think about us.

There is a very large global business built on traditional shampoo cleansing technology e.g. to remove dirt and soils from the hair and scalp and some have been designed to target specific problems such as dandruff, improve volume, save time or water. Most new products to the market provide consumers with a slightly different solution, but for decades the shampoo category hasn’t really changed, and brands mostly compete against each other on price.

Just some of the issues that people face when cleaning their hair:

Not having the right cleansing solution for the occasion i.e. we use the same product at home, whether it is morning or night-time, as well as on the go e.g. at the gym after a workout, or when travelling
Not having the right cleansing solution for our scalp versus our hair (especially when colouring hair – where you may want to try and keep the dye long-lasting, as well as cleaning the hair’s surface, heal scalp, etc.)
Not having a natural cleansing solution (such as using natural ingredients) that is also effective at doing the job
