Innovative ideas along with implementation of the same is invited from researchers / technologists / scientists / entrepreneurs for the “Technological Innovation Grand Challenge 2024” by National Jute Board (NJB) with the aim to develop a new fibre process line for jute (from fibre preparation, carding, drawing and spinning) for production of Jute Yarn of finer count (i.e. less than 140 tex or 4 lb/spindle) with standard rate of production and optimum jute loss (at par with industry standards).
The jute industry requires development of a new fibre process line, akin to the worsted system, encompassing pre-spinning, carding, drawing, and spinning stages, to produce finer-count jute yarns (less than 140 tex or 4 lb/spindle) using stapled jute fibre. This system must ensure a standard production rate and optimal fibre loss, aligning with industry benchmarks, to enhance the viability and quality of finer jute yarn production.
